For me this scene captures the changing landscape of harvest time. The undulating fields of regimented hay bails appear to cradle the buildings of West Kennet. As I prepared for the shoot a tractor laboured in a field below loading bails onto a laden trailer and I knew by morning the opportunity would be missed. Thin cloud helped to diffuse the low sun throwing a blanket of warm light over the sun-scorched fields below.
