JAMES HOURD | FINE ART PHOTOGRAPHY

Limited Edition Prints

An enormous amount of time and effort is invested into each individual print. From days in the field waiting for the perfect alignment of conditions to selecting and preparing only the best quality images. Meticulous attention to detail is applied at every stage of the process.

Every James Hourd limited edition print is captured on Fuji Velvia transparency film using a Fuji GX 617 medium format camera. While the equipment is large and cumbersome to transport and use, this painstaking approach allows him to produce extremely large prints that retain exceptional detail and sharpness.

Photographic prints are produced on Fuji Crystal Archive II paper using a Durst Lambda printer to ensure brilliant colour and authentic impression. This exposure system has long had an unrivalled reputation for precision exposure and traditional photo-chemical development with connoisseurs across the world. With a certified true-to-colour promise of 75 years James is able to provide gallery quality archival prints to last a lifetime.

Canvas prints are produced using a premium 6-colour print process (rather than 4) and are dried using UV light. This produces remarkable colour and saturation while being water and light resistant. Your print is stretched over a custom made solid wood frame from sustainable forestry. The warp resistant frame is strengthened three times in each corner with metal struts ensuring gallery quality for your print.

Each individual print is carefully inspected before being dispatched and is supplied with a signed, titled and numbered certificate of authenticity.

Prints are sold as limited editions of either 50 or 250 prints (this number excludes low quality reproductions of images for calendars, postcards and magazines).
